RE: What does Pantyhose in Your Language mean?
I live in Taiwan, we use Chinese,
so it looks like 褲襪,
褲 means pants and 襪 is hose, sock...
combine them together,
it become pants-like hose.

what you mean THEY...are you german ?

Strumpfhose is also a splitt word

Strumpf = socks
hose= trousers

socktrousers..hehe

german word is spellt strumpfhose,but said strumpfhoser
Yes I am German. I know that it is a funny word...

By the way in the Netherlands pantyhose are called "panty" or "kousenbroek", which is the same splitword as used in Germany
If you take "kousen" away from the word "broek" it means stockings.

RE: What does Pantyhose in Your Language mean?
In Czech Republic we call pantyhose: "punčochové kalhoty", "punčocháče" or "silonky" Smile
"punčochové kalhoty" is actually translation to the letter (what a coincidence Smile ) of "panty hose"
"punčocháče" is a shorter and more often used form of the name.
"silonky" is very common and also my favourite term Smile
And what do you think?
