B/C I actually got in a disagreement about that with someone not too long ago. I explained that 'tights' and 'pantyhose' are the same thing. The whole interpretation of "tights are thicker" thing started in America I think, b/c in dance studios they refer to their attire as tights or leotards which are opaque mostly.
